Allies are cutting each other's roots, this discord will never end – ..
Conflict in India Alliance: Rajeev Sachan. Whatever be the political alliance, there is always some tension in it. As soon as elections come, this fight increases further. These days, there is a conflict between the party and the opposition alliance regarding the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, but it is clear that in India, the opposition parties have more power than the NDA.
The reason is that while BJP’s allies have not been able to emerge by capturing its political ground, Congress’s allies have become stronger by making a dent in its own vote bank. For this reason, there was a contest between Congress and Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh by-election. Both of them could not agree on the by-election of nine assembly seats.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav offered Congress only two seats out of nine. These were also those seats where Congress had less chances of winning. Given the risk, the Congress refused to contest the elections, because if it lost these seats, its claim to contest more seats in the future would be weakened.
By rejecting SP’s proposal, Congress showed that it is sacrificing the unity of the alliance. Congress did not make sacrifices, but out of compulsion refused to contest the by-elections. Akhilesh Yadav’s statement made it clear that no one makes sacrifices in politics. He gave this statement while claiming to contest elections on five seats in Maharashtra.
SP has warned that if Mahavikas Aghadi does not give it five seats then it will field its candidates on 25 seats. It can also do this, because in Madhya Pradesh, when Congress did not give it even a single seat, it fielded 22 of its candidates.
Even in Haryana, Congress has not given even a single seat to SP. She backed out after hinting at contesting elections in Haryana with the Aam Aadmi Party. It certainly hurt him, but his decision was justified because if he had compromised with AAP, it would have given him a chance to make a dent in his vote bank in Haryana. By doing this, Congress has lost its political ground in one state after another and today it has become the third-fourth party in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, where it used to have dominance.
It is completely false to say and believe that parties like SP, RJD, JDU, JMM, NCP, Shiv Sena-UBT, Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party etc., which are part of INDIA, are natural allies of Congress. All these parties are opposed to Congress and in fact are natural opponents of each other. They cannot hide this truth of natural opposition by raising small slogans like save the Constitution, save reservation. The allies have made their existence only by capturing the core vote bank of Congress. They do not want their cooperation and support to strengthen the Congress again.
From SP’s point of view, it did the right thing by not giving importance to Congress in the UP by-elections. Congress can become strong in UP only when some vote bank of SP comes to its share. After all, why would SP want Congress to become strong again? He knows very well that he has made his political ground only by capturing the core vote bank of Congress. If Mahavikas Aghadi, which is with Congress, is not ready to give any seat to SP, then it is right from its point of view. When the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party and Shiv Sena-UBT are already losing ground in their political efforts to accommodate each other, why should they add to their problems by creating yet another new partner?
It is not wrong if Congress wants to snatch away the vote bank of its allies and if it cannot do so now then at least stop their expansion. In the last assembly elections in Gujarat, Congress had committed political suicide by compromising with AAP. Instead of giving importance to Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana, he only worked to correct the mistake made in Gujarat. It is not surprising that in Jharkhand, Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha divided seats among themselves and opposed RJD. By doing this, both these parties have not done anything wrong, because firstly, RJD has no political status in Jharkhand and secondly, it would have harmed the vote bank of Congress and JMM here.
Now it is certain that when Bihar assembly elections are held, RJD will take revenge and give minimum seats to Congress. Anyway, he still regrets giving them 70 seats last time. RJD also knows that giving more seats to Congress means making it a partner in its vote bank and giving it a chance to become strong again.
If the Congress and its allies keep trying to uproot each other, it is because of the nature of India. It is the destiny of the constituent parties of this alliance to marginalize each other. Any party that does not attempt this will do so at its own risk. If there is any common element among the components of this alliance, it is to maintain a hold on each other’s political ground.
