New Delhi, 1 November (Hindustan Reporter). Muhurta trading, traditionally held on the occasion of Diwali, remained strong today in the domestic stock market. The business started off strong. After the market opened, there was some selling in order to book profits. Despite this, both the Sensex and Nifty indices continued to remain in the green. During the Muhurat trading which lasted from 6 pm to 7 pm today, the wealth of investors also increased by about Rs 3.39 lakh crore. After this special trading session of 1 hour, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.42 percent and Nifty closed with a gain of 0.41 percent.
During the 1-hour trading session today, all the sectoral indices closed firmly in the green. In today’s business, there was heavy buying in shares of Automobile, Public Sector Enterprise, Consumer Durable and Oil and Gas sectors. There was continuous buying momentum in the broader market today, due to which the BSE Mid Cap Index closed with a gain of 0.69 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today’s trading with a gain of 1.16 percent.
Today, due to the strength in the stock market, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 3 lakh crore. The market capitalization of companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 448.10 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trading, whereas their market capitalization on the previous trading day i.e. Thursday was Rs 444.71 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 3.39 lakh crore from today’s trading.
During Muhurta trading today, there was active trading in 3,648 shares in BSE. Of these, 3,036 shares closed with gains, while 542 shares were in decline, while 70 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,476 shares in NSE today. Of these, 2,106 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 370 shares closed in the red after incurring losses. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 27 shares closed with gains and 3 shares closed with decline. Whereas out of 50 shares included in Nifty, 37 shares closed in the green mark and 13 shares closed in the red mark.
BSE Sensex jumped 634.69 points today and opened at 80,023.75 points. As soon as the trading started, due to the pressure of profit making, this index also suffered a sharp fall. Due to selling, this index fell to the level of 79,655.55 points, but after this buyers started buying and stopped the decline of the market. After Muhurat trading, Sensex closed at 79,724.12 points with a gain of 335.06 points.
Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading today at 24,302.75 points with a gain of 97.40 points. As soon as the market opened, with the support of buying, this index rose by 162.90 points to reach the level of 24,368.25 points. After this rise, the bears started booking profits, due to which within a short time this index fell by about 90 points from the upper level and reached 24,280.20 points. However, after this once again the buyers showed their strength, due to which Nifty closed at the level of 24,304.35 with a gain of 99 points.
After the trading during Muhurta trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, Mahindra & Mahindra 3.27 percent, ONGC 2.10 percent, Bharat Electronics 1.32 percent, Adani Ports 1.34 percent and Eicher Motors 1.20 percent are in the list of today’s top 5 gainers. On the other hand, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories fell by 1.15 per cent, Britannia by 0.59 per cent, HCL Technology by 0.49 per cent, Tech Mahindra by 0.31 per cent and Grasim Industries joined the list of today’s top 5 losers with a fall of 0.11 per cent.
