Pole vault record-holder, Olympic medalist Duplantis, dresses as Turkish shooter Dikec for Halloween
Olympic pole vault champion Armand “Mondo” Duplantis and his fiancée, model Desiré Inglander, captivated fans on social media with their Halloween costumes, inspired by athletes from the Paris 2024 Olympics. Their outfits, referencing the Games’ most talked-about moments, were well-received by followers who called the costumes “iconic” and “fire.”
Duplantis, who recently broke his own pole vault world record with a 6.25m jump, dressed as Turkish Olympic shooting silver medalist Yusuf Dikec, known for his relaxed, hand-in-pocket pose during the mixed team 10-meter air pistol event.
The world record holder famously stroked Yusuf Dikec’s pose after breaking the pole vault record in the Paris Olympics.
Inglander took on the likeness of Australian breakdancer Raygun, replicating one of her striking poses from the Games, where the dancer, real name Rachael Gunn, became a viral sensation for her unusual style, scoring 0.0 points after a performance that included hopping and dynamic poses.
The Swedish-American athlete, known for his consistent record-breaking performances, first adopted Dikec’s iconic stance after winning his second Olympic title in Paris. He also celebrated his victory by sharing a kiss with Inglander, a moment that became a highlight at the Stade de France, with 70,000 spectators cheering.
Duplantis, who proposed to Inglander in the Hamptons, shared his nerves over the proposal in an interview with Vogue Scandinavia, saying he was “more nervous than at the Olympics.” Inglander, a content creator, expressed her surprise, adding, “I’m such a control freak, it’s impossible to surprise me.”
