Rijiju interacts with PLA soldiers during Indian Army camp visit in Arunachal | Watch

Itanagar: Union minister Kiren Rijiju interacted with soldiers of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) along the India-China border near Tawang on Friday.The interaction took place during his visit to an Indian Army post.

In short video shared on his X handle, the minister can be seen interacting with three Chinese soldiers with the help of an interpreter. “After talking to Chinese soldiers and seeing the infrastructures, everyone will feel proud of India’s border development now. Celebrated Diwali at Bumla with our Army Jawans in Arunachal Pradesh,” the minister wrote on X.

Rijiju’s interaction with PLA soldiers

As per news agency PTI, during his interaction with PLA soldiers, the minister wanted to know about how they managed to stay while being posted at such a high altitude. The PLA soldiers responded by saying that they did not have any problem  staying there and were comfortable. During his visit, the minister also interacted Indian Army soldiers and spent time with them on the occasion of Diwali. “Also celebrated Diwali at the Army Helipad in Tawang. It felt proud to celebrate Diwali with brave soldiers. Our country is safe only because of their dedication and courage. Jai Hind!,” the minister wrote in another message on X.

Major breakthrough on disengagement

The interaction between the minister with the Chinese soldiers took place days after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that an agreement was finalised between both countries for the resolution of the issues after the Galwan clashes in 2020 in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. India and China decided on on patrolling and disengagement of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The breakthrough lead to an end of over four-year standoff.
