New Delhi. Controversy has now started over Uddhav Thackeray's party Shiv Sena UBT MP Arvind Sawant's statement on imported goods. Shiv Sena Shinde faction's woman leader Shaina NC has lodged an FIR. Sawant had called Shaina NC an imported product. After which Shaina got angry and retaliated by saying that I am a woman, not a commodity. On the other hand, women leaders of Shiv Sena have opened a front against Sawant. To take action on Sawant's objectionable comments, Shaina reached Nagpada Police Station in Mumbai and lodged a complaint against the Shiv Sena UBT leader. On the other hand, other women leaders of Shiv Sena have also strongly opposed this comment of Arvind Sawant.

At the same time, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre, while reacting in this matter, said that the way Arvind Sawant has commented on women is not tolerable at all. Today, on the day of Lakshmi Mata Devi worship, you are using words like 'maal' for women. Is this your culture? This is against the views of Balasaheb Thackeray. Bala Saheb used to call women Ran Ragini and you are calling women Maal. In your house, do you call your mother, sister and daughter by this name? Arvind Sawant will have to apologize to all the women for his remarks. Along with this, all the women leaders present there started raising slogans demanding apology from Arvind Sawant.

On the other hand, seeing this matter gaining momentum, Arvind Sawant has now given clarification. Sawant said that I have not taken his name. I just said that anyone who is an outsider will not work here, imported goods will not work. Lashing out at the media, Sawant said that it is the media's business to distort statements. I have been in politics for 55 years. I have always respected women. Shaina has been my friend, she has campaigned for me. I respect him.
