sports desk : Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt was born on 2 November 1982 in Gohana town of Haryana. Yogeshwar Dutt turns 42 today. Yogeshwar Dutt made his mark in the world by winning the bronze medal for India in the London Olympics. He was born in a family where most of the people were teachers. Yogeshwar's parents were also teachers. Everyone in his family wanted Yogeshwar to grow up and become a teacher. But, Yogeshwar made his name in the world.
Yogeshwar was fond of wrestling since childhood. He started wrestling at the age of just 8 years. Yogeshwar was greatly influenced by Balraj Pehalwan of his village. In the year 1992, Yogeshwar also won the school championship title. After which his family also started supporting him. Two years later, in 1994, he participated in the Inter School Cadet Games held in Poland and was successful in winning the gold medal there. After this, Yogeshwar went to Delhi to give a new direction to his career.
Father died in 2006
After which Yogeshwar started practicing at Chhatrasal Stadium. For this he also started living there. During this time he also completed his graduation. His father died in 2006, after which he became very disturbed. Then he also got injured in his leg, due to which he had to stay away from wrestling for a long time.
Yogeshwar had qualified for the Beijing Olympics by winning the gold medal in the 2008 Asian Games. But, he was out of the medal race in the quarter-finals of the Olympics. In 2010, Yogeshwar once again won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi. This gold medal was also important because he did this feat despite having a knee injury.
Won bronze medal in Olympics in 2010
The 2012 London Olympics witnessed one of the best moments when Yogeshwar Dutt won the bronze medal. Became the third Indian wrestler after KD Jadhav and Sushil Kumar to win a bronze medal in the Olympics. After winning the Olympic medal, Yogeshwar was also awarded the country's highest sports award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2012.
