He has said that before the year 2014, the then opposition party BJP had accused the then Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Ajit Pawar of large-scale corruption and during this period it was claimed that corruption worth Rs 70,000 crore had been committed against him. .

Ramesh said that an impartial investigation should be conducted into this matter. Ajit Pawar and many other Maharashtra MLAs had parted ways with the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party or NCP and joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government in the state last year.
