UPI Lite News In Hindi: UPI payment, a cashless method of payment through an application from your smartphone, has changed its rules from November 1 (2024). NPCI is going to make two important changes in UPI Lite from November 1, which will benefit the users of popular payment gateways – Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm.
Through UPI Lite, users will be able to make more payments than before. According to reports, RBI has increased the transaction limit of UPI Lite. Also, when the balance of UPI Lite falls below the prescribed limit, the user's account will be automatically topped up.

What is UPI Lite?
All popular UPI payment platforms in India such as Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm will introduce UPI Lite feature for their users. It is a digital wallet, with the help of which small transactions can be done without PIN or password. To add money to UPI Lite wallet, users will have to top-up manually. After the new rules come into effect from November 1, users' wallets will be automatically topped up.
National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched the UPI Lite feature some time ago. To top up this wallet, users will get a limit of up to Rs 2,000. Users can make small payments through UPI Lite even without PIN. NPCI has announced the auto-pay balance feature only for UPI Lite and this news became official through a notification issued on 27th August 2024.
Auto-Pay Balance Service: What is it and how does it work on UPI Lite?
To activate the auto-pay balance service in UPI Lite, users need to enable it first. They have to set a minimum limit in the account which will be linked to the UPI Lite wallet.
As soon as the wallet reaches the minimum amount, it will be automatically topped up from the user's account.
NPCI has set the maximum limit for UPI Lite at Rs 2,000.
It is important to mention that users will not be able to top-up their UPI Lite wallet more than 5 times a day.
If the user has not opted for the auto-pay balance feature, they will be able to top-up their UPI Lite wallet manually.
