Asaduddin Owaisi said – When the trustee of TTD is not a Muslim, then how can there be a non-Muslim member in the Waqf Board?
New Delhi. AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has raised questions on having non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board. During this, he said that out of the 24 members of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD Board), not a single member is non-Hindu, the new chairman of TTD says that the people working there should be Hindus, we are not against it.

He said that our only objection is that Narendra Modi's government is saying in the proposed Waqf bill that it has been made mandatory to have 2 non-Muslim members in the Central Waqf Council. Why are you bringing this provision in the Waqf Bill? TTD is a board of Hindu religion and Waqf Board is of Muslim religion. There should be equality, when TTD trustees cannot be Muslims, then how can there be a non-Muslim member in the Waqf Board?
On Maharashtra Assembly elections, Asaduddin Owaisi said, we are contesting elections on our own strength, AIMIM believes that when Muslims will get equal rights as their population, Indian politics will be strong. Today there are only 4 percent Muslim MPs in the Indian Parliament. He further said that, it is our full effort that the government of Shinde, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar should not be formed again.
Supported Farooq Abdullah's statement
Whereas on JKNC chief Farooq Abdullah's statement on Budgam terror attack, Asaduddin Owaisi said, law and order is the responsibility of LG and if terrorist attacks are happening there then BJP should take the responsibility. I am saying that terrorists are coming from Pakistan, why are you not stopping them? What is Modi government doing? It is the responsibility of the government to stop them, arrest them, it is the failure of the Narendra Modi government that they are not able to stop the terrorists.
