Shahjahanpur district prison decorated on the lines of Ayodhya
Shahjahanpur/The theme of Ayodhya Dham was played on Diwali in the district jail of the district. Here a decoration competition was organized by forming teams of prisoners. 1300 prisoners detained in the district jail were presented with traditional Diwali toys, sweets and fruits. During this, special food was distributed to the prisoners.
Inspired by the grand festival of lights of Ayodhya, with the aim of giving Shahjahanpur district jail the look of mini Ayodhya, the entire jail complex was decorated with 25,000 lamps and 25,000 candles in various shapes – huge Ram temple, auspicious Diwali, Om, women empowerment, clean India, de-addiction. And other beautiful rangoli were made and decorated with lamps.
Besides, the prisoners decorated their barracks and huts with beautiful rangoli, paper frills and lightning decorations. For the first time, Diwali was celebrated in such a grand manner in District Jail Shahjahanpur. A total of 9 teams were formed for the decoration competition. Team of remaining prisoners – 1- Team Ram(Circle) 2- Team Laxman (Barrack 4,5,6) 3- Team Bharat(Barrack No. 7,8) 4- Team Shatrughan (Barrack No. 1,2) 5- Team Sita (Women's Barrack) 6- Team Sugriva (Girda) 7- Team Hanuman (Barrack 10) 8- Team Angad (Barrack 11) The chief guest of the program, former District Panchayat President Virendra Pal Singh, Superintendent of Police City Sanjay Kumar and his wife and Additional District Judge Mrs. Sanjay Kumar inspected the decorations.
The jury of the competition included social worker Harisharan Vajpayee and Seema Vajpayee, president of voluntary organization Seva Bharti, Rajeev Krishna Aggarwal of Jai Bharat organization, after visiting the site of the decoration of all the participating teams, circle team was awarded first, barrack no. 1, 2 second and barrack no. 7,8 were selected for third place and women's barrack, barrack number 11, and barrack number 10 were selected for consolation prize.
Vajpayee couple contributed the lamps, mustard oil, wicks, sweets, sticks etc. used in the competition. Rajeev Krishna Aggarwal More than one thousand candles were presented. In the end, Jail Superintendent Mizaji Lal expressed his gratitude to everyone.
