What does Badenoch's victory mean for India?
Badenoch may join the race for Prime Minister in Britain's next general elections (2029). His victory signals that Britain's oldest political party is moving further to the right. This means that the Conservative Party can take a tough stance on issues related to immigration, climate change and culture. Badenoch had recently commented on the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
He had told that he had stopped the India-UK Free Trade Agreement due to the demand for additional visas while in power. The British leader of Nigerian origin had said that the Sunak-led government could not finalize the FTA because India had demanded more concessions regarding migration.
