The attack took place this morning near the Tourist Reception Center (TRC) in Srinagar. The injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. It is reported that he is fine now. According to officials, a bomb was thrown at the Central Reserve Police Force bunker located in the area, but the terrorists missed the target and the grenade exploded in the heavily trafficked Sunday Market area. Immediately after this, the search for the people responsible for this attack has been intensified.

The Sunday Market area is a very busy area with thousands of people visiting every day. After the attack, there was panic in the area, shops were closed and the area became deserted. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack. “Incidents of attacks and encounters have increased in some parts of Kashmir in the last few days. The news of grenade attack on innocent people visiting shops in Sunday Market in Srinagar is very disturbing. “Targeting innocent civilians cannot be justified,” he said on his X page.

The attack today follows the incident in which two terrorists were killed yesterday in Shanguj-Larnau area of ​​South Kashmir's Anantnag district. Officials suspect that the attack may have been carried out to avenge yesterday's incident. Of those killed yesterday, one was identified as a Pakistani and the other as a local. It has not yet been confirmed which terrorist organization they belong to. Yesterday another clash took place in Kanyar area of ​​Srinagar. There is no report of any casualty from either side. So far, 15 people have been killed in various terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir since the new government took charge early last month.
