10th pass students will also be able to become doctors, students of Madhya Pradesh will get direct admission in BAMS…

Bhopal: There is good news for the students of Madhya Pradesh who want to make a career in Ayurveda medicine. Now the compulsion to study till 12th class to become a doctor has ended. Even after passing class 10th, students will be able to take admission in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine (BAMS) course. For this, the student will have to appear for NEET UG examination separately. After being successful in this, they will easily get admission in BAMS. However, there will be only one or two institutes in every state for this course.
Ayurveda institute will be known as Gurukulam
National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine (NCISM) has issued a notification in this regard. Admission of 10th pass students in BAMS will start from 2025-26 academic session. These institutions will be known as Ayurveda Gurukulam. At the same time, existing Ayurveda institutions will not be allowed to be converted into Ayurveda Gurukulam or Ayurveda Gurukulam into other institutions. Students will have to stay and study here. Their hospital will also be separate.

Entry at age 15, seven and a half year course
NCISM had been preparing for this for almost a year. The curriculum, admission process and other criteria have been determined. Under this, the seven and a half year degree course will have the initial two years of Pre-Ayurveda and four and a half years of BAMS with one year of compulsory rotatory internship. In Pre-Ayurveda, students will be taught Sanskrit, Introduction to Ayurveda and other such subjects, which are important according to Ayurveda, which the students of Bio Group were not studying in 11th-12th. The minimum age for the entrance examination is 15 years.

National Convenor of Neema Student Union, Dr. Harendra Singh Bhadauria said, “We welcome and support this initiative of the government.
Pre-Ayurveda course will prove to be a boon for those students who really want to study Ayurveda. An Ayurveda student should have good knowledge of Sanskrit and philosophy, since there is no such system in today's education system, then when the student takes admission in graduation, then all these things seem different to him and he is not able to understand these subjects. It takes a lot of time to get it.
