The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released the report after analyzing the affidavits of 682 out of 683 candidates for the elections to be held on 43 seats in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly. According to the report, out of 682 candidates, 235 i.e. 34 percent are crorepatis.

Among these, 94 percent of Congress, 83 percent of BJP, 80 percent of RJD, 78 percent of JMM, 100 percent of JDU and 24 percent of BSP candidates are crorepatis. Among these crorepati candidates, 63 candidates (9.24 percent) have assets worth more than five crores. At the same time, there are 78 candidates (11.44) with assets between Rs 2 crore and Rs 5 crore. There are 198 candidates (29.03) with assets ranging from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 2 crore.

According to parties, the average assets of Congress candidates are Rs 14.77 crore, BJP's Rs 5.53 crore and JMM's Rs 4.04 crore. At the same time, the average assets of RJD are 8.82 crores, JDU's 3.46 crores. The average assets of BSP candidates are Rs 1.5 crore.

Among the candidates in the first phase, 49 are undergraduates. 308 candidates i.e. 45 candidates have studied from class 5th to 12th. Six candidates are diploma holders. 18 candidates are literate and two are illiterate. 51 percent candidates have graduation and above qualification. While the age of 39 candidates is between 25 to 40. 51 candidates are aged between 41 to 60 years.

Kandomani Bhumij is the richest among the candidates in the first phase. They have the most movable and immovable property. Whereas, in terms of annual income, BJP candidate from Potka, Meera Munda has shown the highest income. After Meera Munda, Ajoy Kumar and Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta are at second and third place respectively. Whereas in terms of total assets, KN ​​Tripathi is the second richest candidate and Ayush Ranjan, an independent candidate from Ranchi, is the third richest candidate.

Cases registered against 11 candidates for atrocities against women

According to the report, a total of 26 percent i.e. 174 candidates in the first phase have criminal cases registered against them. Of these, 19 candidates have serious criminal cases registered against them. If we look at party wise, cases are registered against 20 out of 36 candidates of BJP i.e. 56 percent and 11 out of 17 i.e. 65 percent of Congress candidates.

At the same time, about 11 out of 23 candidates of JMM i.e. 48 percent, 60 percent of RJD and 100 percent of JDU candidates have criminal cases registered against them. Whereas 42 percent of BJP, 47 percent of Congress, 7 percent of JMM, 21 percent of BSP, 60 percent of RJD and 100 percent of JDU candidates have serious criminal cases. Of these, 11 candidates have cases registered against them for atrocities against women. Cases of murder are registered against four candidates and cases of attempt to murder are registered against 40 candidates.
