Latest News :- The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched a new analog research center in Ladakh as part of its mission to send humans into space and extraterrestrial space. ISRO's Gaganyaan mission to send astronauts to space has started and is progressing well. Similarly, India is also trying to establish a space station. There are ongoing plans to send spacecraft to extraterrestrial planets.
Also, ISRO has selected 6 Air Force personnel to be sent to space in the Gaganyaan project and is giving them special training. Apart from this, ISRO's research is being intensified to explore the problems of human survival in space and beyond. Under the same program, ISRO scientists have started a special study in Leh area of Ladakh. ISRO has set up an analog research center there.
ISRO scientists have started research by installing a spacecraft with an environment similar to alien life forms. ISRO scientists are carrying out this 'analogue' test on the basis that they have decided to conduct such test in a climate space like space or extraterrestrial space.
New technology, robotics, vehicles, extraterrestrial or space habitats, communication equipment, power generation equipment, positioning devices, storage devices are tested in this analog research center. This experiment is being conducted by ISRO in collaboration with Ladakh Hill Development Corporation, IIT Mumbai and Ladakh University. ISRO decided to conduct this analog probe mission in Ladakh, which was chosen for its unique geographical features that closely resemble the terrains of Mars and the Moon. Under this, research has started here.
Ladakh's cold, dry conditions and high altitude are said to provide an ideal environment for testing technologies and strategies required for long-duration space missions. The initiative is considered part of efforts to improve its capabilities in human spaceflight and interplanetary exploration, including the Gaganyaan project, which aims to send Indian astronauts to space.
In this regard, ISRO has said in its X-Base: India's first analog space flight started in Leh. The name of the analog research center established there is Hap-1. It says so. Rajnagar Divisional Forest Officer Sudarshan Gopinath said, “This analog probe is an important step towards understanding the complexities of life on other planets. “The information gained through this program will be critical to the success of future space missions. It is noteworthy that ISRO aims to establish an Indian Space Research Station by 2047, an Indian Space Research Station (PAS) by 2035 and go to the Moon by 2040.
