Uttarakhand: PM Modi expressed grief over the death of people in Almora road accident, PMO announced compensation.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of people in a road accident that took place on Monday in Almora, Uttarakhand. PM Modi said that under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is making every possible effort for relief and rescue. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

In a post issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Twitter, Modi said, “My condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand.” Along with this, I wish speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is making every possible effort for relief and rescue.

PMO's post on X

23 passengers died and 15 others were injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge in Almora district. The bus was going from Pauri to Ramnagar when it fell into a 200 meter deep gorge at Marchula in Almora. There were about 40 passengers in the bus. In another ex-post, PMO said that Modi has also approved ex-gratia amount for the victims of PMNRF.

PMO said that the Prime Minister has announced to give Rs 2 lakh each as ex-gratia from PMNRF to the families of those who died in a road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand. The injured will be given Rs 50,000 each.
