RO-KO did not give importance to domestic cricket, even Sachin Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly did not do this

sports desk : India has suffered a 3-0 defeat in the three-match Test series played between India and New Zealand. After the clean sweep, former players strongly criticized the senior players. The batsmen have disappointed the most in this series. The biggest thing is that players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli no longer even like to play domestic cricket. However, in the present times, there are more programs and hence these players get exemption from domestic cricket.

This was not the case earlier, if we talk about 2007, the Indian team's long tour of South Africa had ended in January. After this, the team had to immediately play a four-match ODI series with West Indies to prepare for the ODI World Cup. India played the last matches of the series on 21, 24, 27 and 31 January. Immediately after this, on February 1, the four main players of the team left to play Ranji Trophy.

Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, and Sourav Ganguly flew from Vadodara to Mumbai to take part in the Ranji Trophy final from February 2 to 6. Sachin Tendulkar played a century in that match. Whereas Sourav Ganguly had played an inning of 90 runs. Zaheer Khan had taken some important wickets. Tendulkar, Ganguly and Zaheer had to play an ODI series against Sri Lanka within 48 hours of the G final and 'workload management' was not a topic of discussion then.

Senior players do not want to play domestic cricket

Questions are being raised due to big players staying out of domestic cricket. Do these players have nothing to do with domestic cricket? Or these people do not want to play domestic cricket at all. Kohli played his last Ranji Trophy match in 2013 against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad. Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Ashish Nehra, Ishant Sharma, Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were also involved in this match. This was probably the last Ranji Trophy match in which so many players from the national team were playing together. Rohit played his last Ranji Trophy match in 2015.

After that Virat and Rohit played 1-1 first class matches. Virat Kohli played one match for India A before the 2017 tour of Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma played one match for India A in 2019. It was only after this match that Rohit started opening the innings in Test cricket.

Sachin played 310 matches in first class

Sachin Tendulkar, who is called the God of Cricket, has played 310 first class matches along with 200 Tests in his career. Despite his busy international schedule, he played 110 first-class matches in 24 years. In comparison, Kohli has played 32 first-class matches and Rohit has done slightly better with 61 matches in 18 years of first-class cricket since 2006. However, Rohit and Kohli have to go through the busy IPL schedule for two months. Rohit has played 448 matches in his career and Kohli has played 399 matches.
