Weight loss diet is a key to shedding kilos and burning calories. Diet is pivotal in controlling weight in a certain bracket. Recently, Vidya Balan opened up about her drastic weight loss transformation that is based on healthy diet without exercising. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ actress talked about being on an ‘anti-inflammatory’ diet and she is not the only one following it. Samantha Ruth Prabhu too shared how her anti-inflammatory diet helps to keep her weight controlled owing to her disease.

Recently, the ‘Citadel Honey Bunny’ actress held an interactive question answer session on Instagram. While people appreciated her , talked about her skin care and more, someone asked her to “bulk it up” She replied with a video message, saying, “Another weight comment. I saw an entire thread about my weight. If you guys must know, I am on a strict anti-inflammatory diet which is required for my condition which prevents me from putting on weight, keeps in a certain weight bracket and keeps me in a sweet spot with my condition (myositis). Stop judging people. Let them be, live and let live. Please guys, it’s 2024.”

In an interview with Galatta India, Vidya Balan too shared her weight loss diet routine. She got in association with nutritional group called Amura (Amura Health) in Chennai.  Speaking about losing weight without exercising, the actress said,”They said, ‘It is just inflammation; it is not fat’. So, they put me on a diet to get rid of the inflammation, elimination of inflammation it is called, and it worked beautifully for me and the weight went like that because they eliminated foods that were not suiting me. I have been a vegetarian all my life, (yet) I didn’t know palak and doodhi (spinach and bottle gourd) don’t suit me. We think all vegetables are good for us, but that is not the case. You have to figure out what’s good for you as just because it is good for someone else, it may not be good for you,” she said.

What is Anti-Inflammatory Diet?

Inflammation is basically body’s natural response to combat infection, illness etc. However, experiencing chronic inflammation can lead to several health issues like heart problems, cancer, diabetes and weight gain as well. Switching to certain dietary tips and changes can help in reducing inflammation and losing weight as well.

Anti-inflammatory diet can constitute of nutrient dense foods that are rich in anti-oxidnats as it aids with free radicals reducing oxidative stress on the body. There is no one diet to follow. There are certain rules to help with weight loss routine.

Stay away from ultra processed foods that are high in carbohydrates. Avoid consuming sugary meals, baked goods, processed meats, sauces etc.

So, what one must eat?  In order to  fight inflammation, it is considered to opt for sugar free meals, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, low-fat dairy, olive oil , unprocessed food etc. Spices like cinnamon, ginger, turmeric too have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect that could aid with better health.

This is general information about anti-inflammatory diet but what may work for one, maynot do the same for another. Therefore, it is better to consult a professional and chart out a meal plan suiting to individuals’ needs.
