In a discussion with Sports Takformer Indian opener and cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar mentioned that the upcoming series against Australia will be a significant challenge. He suggested that head coach Gautam Gambhir should step in to help guide the Indian batters.

Although India already have Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate as assistant coaches, Gavaskar believes that Gambhir has more experience than both of them. He feels that Gambhir’s involvement could provide the necessary support to help the players improve their performance and rebuild their confidence ahead of the tough series against Australia.

He has made more runs than both Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate in Test cricket, so only Gautam Gambhir will have to tell the players about how to bat in Australia and what should be the batting approach, maybe we can come up with a good perfromance,” Gavaskar added.
