America spread terrorism in Muslim world, Iran said this

Hossein Salami, chief commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has blamed US policies for terrorism and division in the Muslim world. Salami spoke at a rally on Sunday to mark the 45th anniversary of the takeover of the former US embassy in Tehran and the 'National Day of Fight Against Global Egoism' (also known as National Student Day). Said that 'the phenomenon of Takfiri (extremist) terrorism and bloody partition in the Muslim world' is all the result of American policies.

Mr Salami described the US as having a “contradictory identity”, according to Iran's official news agency IRNA. He said America talks about global peace, security and order, while it is the source of all 'crimes, genocides and occupations' in the world.

On Sunday, people took to the streets against America and marched to the premises of the former US Embassy and raised slogans against America and Israel. Protesters waved the flags of Iran, Hezbollah and Palestine, as well as pictures of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and slain leaders and commanders of Iranian and regional resistance groups.

At the end of the rally, protesters issued a statement pledging allegiance to Iran's supreme leader and condemning Israel's “crimes” in Gaza and Lebanon. Protesters also called on the international community to work towards achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

It is noteworthy that in February 1979, a few months after the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Iranian university students occupied the US Embassy building. Protesters accused the US Embassy of plotting to end the Islamic Republic and serving as a spy base for the US government. Since then, Iran celebrates the takeover every year by holding nationwide rallies.
