Inspection of road widening and strengthening being done by Maha Kumbh Development Authority.

Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant today inspected various works of road widening and strengthening being done by Prayagraj Development Authority in the wake of Mahakumbh 2025 in the presence of all concerned officials.

He inspected the road widening and strengthening works being done on IERT (Teliar Ganj) to Aptran intersection, Govind Puri to Salori, Sadiyabad Road. During inspection, lack of quality in civil works was found at many places. At many places, GSB compaction, selection of bricks and proportion of the mixture used were found to be sub-standard. Deficiencies were also found in the RCC work and alignment of the drain being built nearby.

Subsequently, during the inspection of the works being done from Rampriya Road to Chhota Bhaghara to Bakshi Dam Road, the quality of the works was found to be lacking there also. At many places the bitumen work was lagging behind pert chart and required patching. Sewer lines and water lines were found broken at many places on both the roads and water was overflowing on the road due to which people were angry. In the same sequence, the work being done on the High Court Road was also inspected and the road construction work towards the water tank was found to be slow.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officials to coordinate with the officials of the Municipal Corporation, Jal Nigam and other related departments to fix, wherever possible, wherever the quality is not as per the standard or water is overflowing due to pipeline breakage. Besides, instructions were given to the Chief Engineer, Development Authority to fix the responsibility for sub-standard works and to take action against the concerned officers and make them aware.
