President approves winter session of Parliament, know from when till when the House will function


New Delhi. The winter session of Parliament will start from 25 November and continue till 20 December. President Draupadi Murmu has approved the proposal to convene both the houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. A program will be organized in the Central Hall of the House on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution Day on November 26, 2024, the next day after the commencement of the session. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju shared this information through his social media post. Some more important bills including One Nation-One Election may be approved in the winter session of Parliament.

In September, the Modi cabinet had approved the decision to hold Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the country simultaneously. Now it has to be presented in Parliament. The opposition may create an uproar over this bill. In the last session of the House, the Modi government had introduced the Waqf Board Amendment Bill, over which there was a lot of uproar. After this, the government has constituted JPC to discuss this, in whose meetings there is ruckus every day. It is expected that the opposition parties may create ruckus in the House regarding the discussions held so far in the JPC meetings.

At the same time, the bill regarding giving full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir can also be discussed in the House. Apart from all these, some more bills can be discussed in the winter session of the House. Let us tell you that recently Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has given his approval to the proposal to give full state status to the state. After the approval of the Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah came to Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and submitted a proposal demanding full statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir again.
