Chidambaram lashes out at ‘incompetent’ Air India over delay in Delhi-Chennai flight
New Delhi: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram lashed out at Air India over the delay in the Delhi-Chennai flight he was travelling on and accused airline management of “incompetence”.
He claimed the passengers of the AI 540 Delhi-Chennai flight were cleared for boarding at the gate on Tuesday but were made to wait on the aerobridge for around 15 minutes even though the flight had already been delayed for 10 minutes as compared to the scheduled departure time.
“Passengers are just boarding 10 minutes AFTER departure time. No one knows when the flight will depart. I am a frequent traveller by Air India. I regret that there has been practically no improvement since the management changed hands from the government to the private sector I can list a number of aspects of flying that can be improved by a competent management,” Chidambaram wrote in a post on X.
“I think Air India lacks competent managers at different levels,” he added.
