Shahrukh Khanwho recently celebrated his 59th birthday in Mumbai, is back to work after a month of celebrations. The actor was spotted at a dubbing studio in Mumbai, where he was accompanied by his son Aryan Khan, adding to the excitement among fans about an upcoming, much-awaited project.

Meanwhile, it was earlier announced that the father-son duo will lend their voices to Disney's 'Mufasa: The Lion King', the upcoming prequel to the 1994 classic animated film 'The Lion King'. The film, which is scheduled to hit Indian theaters on December 20, promises to add a new chapter to the legendary Lion King saga with a stunning blend of photorealistic CGI and live-action techniques.

Shah Rukh Khan has been roped in to voice the iconic character of Mufasa, while his eldest son Aryan Khan will play the role of Simba. Adding a touch of family charm, Shah Rukh's youngest son Abram Khan will also be seen in the film, voicing young Mufasa.

In a statement shared by Disney, Shah Rukh Khan talked about his personal connection with his character Mufasa. Khan said, “Mufasa has an incredible legacy and stands as the last king of the jungle, passing on his wisdom to his son Simba. I connect deeply with him as a father and Mufasa's role in the film. I also connect with the journey,” said Khan, whose powerful voice is once again set to bring to life the royal authority and wit of the character.

The 'Mufasa' film will trace the great lion's early years, from his days as an orphan cub to his rise as the iconic king of the Pride Lands. Khan described the experience as “extraordinary” and said that revisiting Mufasa had been a very meaningful experience for him, especially due to his sons' involvement in the project. Disney Star studio head Bikram Duggal echoed this sentiment and called the father-son collaboration a perfect fit for the film. “The ferocious Mufasa is more than just a fictional character; he embodies a spirit that continues to inspire generations,” Duggal said in a press release. When 'Mufasa: The Lion King' was announced, We couldn't see anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan coming back to our family entertainment as Mufasa and Simba.” The film also features a spectacular soundtrack, featuring original songs by the talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, further enriching the cinematic experience for audiences across India. Directed by Barry Jenkins, 'Mufasa: The Lion King' is an epic prequel that sheds light on Mufasa's origins, telling the story of his journey from a young cub to the majestic king of the Pride Lands.
