Washington:- Republican candidate Donald Trump has won the US presidential election. He will become the 47th President of the country. According to the report, Trump secured 277 votes out of 538 electronic votes. Along with the elections for the US President, voting also took place for the House of Representatives. In this, six Indian Americans have won the House of Representatives elections, while one candidate is leading.
In such a situation, there is a possibility that the number of Indian Americans in the House of Representatives will increase to seven, because Dr. Amish Shah is leading by a slight margin against his Republican candidate in the 1st Congressional District of Arizona.
Suhas Subramaniam won from Virginia
Indian-American lawyer Suhas Subramaniam won the elections from Virginia. He is the first person from the community to be elected from the East Coast.
Subramanian defeated Mike Clancy of the Republican Party. He is currently a Virginia state senator.
Subramaniam said, “I am honored and humbled that the people of Virginia have expressed their confidence in me. This district is my home. I was married here, my wife Miranda and I are raising our daughters here, and the issues facing our community are personal to our family.
“It is an honor to serve this district in Washington.”
Subramaniam, who previously served as a White House advisor to President Barack Obama. He is very popular among Indian Americans across the country. He has joined the 'Samosa Caucus' in Congress, which includes five Indian Americans.

Raja Krishnamurthy won for the fifth time
