Rishabh Pant's success in ICC Rankings continues, Rohit-Kohli out of top 20; got a big shock

Rishabh Pant rises in latest ICC Rankings: Even though the Indian team got a 3-0 clean sweep in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand, Rishabh Pant's batting was a big positive. Pant, who was badly injured in a road accident, has made a strong comeback in Test cricket. Pant had scored half-centuries in both the innings of the last Test against New Zealand, which he has now benefited from. Pant has made a tremendous jump in the latest Test rankings released by ICC and is now very close to reaching his career best ranking again.

Rishabh Pant close to regaining career best ranking

Pant, who missed a century by one run in the first Test against New Zealand, failed in the second Test. Despite this, he remained in the top-15. With his strong performance in the last test, he has jumped five places and has now reached the sixth position.

Pant had reached fifth place in the Test rankings in February 2022, which is also the best ranking of his career. Now there is only a difference of seven rating points left in the rating points of fifth-placed Steve Smith and Pant.

Big loss to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, who was out of the top-20 in the last ranking, has slipped two more places. Now Kohli is also out of the top-20. Kohli is now at 22nd and Rohit at 26th. Apart from Pant, the other Indian batsman in the top-10 is Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Yashasvi has also slipped to fourth place with the loss of one place. Joe Root remains the world's number one Test batsman.
