Srinagar: The campaign being conducted by the security forces against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir is now bearing fruit. On Wednesday, a terrorist was killed by the soldiers in Kupwara. Weapons including ammunition have also been recovered from him by the security forces.
Earlier, during the encounter with terrorists in the Ketsan forest area of Bandipora district, the security forces had achieved great success. One terrorist was killed by security forces after hours of firing.

Earlier in the beginning of November, 3 encounters had taken place between security forces and terrorists in Srinagar, Bandipora and Anantnag. In these, 4 soldiers were injured and 3 terrorists were killed. One of the terrorists killed on November 2 was identified as Zahid Rashid. The other one was Arbaaz Ahmed Mir. Both of them had received training from Pakistan.

However, now the security forces have tightened their grip on the terrorists. Before this encounter, on Tuesday, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and 22RR and 92 battalions of CRPF, a helper of terrorists was arrested. A pistol, live cartridges and a magazine have been recovered from him. He has been identified as Ashik Hussain Wani, resident of Sopore.
Let us inform that on Sunday, 12 people, including a woman, were injured in a grenade attack at the Tourist Reception Center and Weekly Market in Srinagar. After this attack, an atmosphere of fear has arisen among the local people. The local police of Jammu and Kashmir have registered a case against the terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
