Cricket News Desk. England Test captain Ben Stokes did not register his name for the IPL 2025 auction. He wants to manage his workload and hence will not be a part of the mega auction. Recently, more than 1500 players have registered themselves for the IPL 2025 mega auction. This time, former England fast bowler James Anderson can also participate in the mega auction. Its base price has been kept at Rs 1.25 crore.
Meanwhile, talking about Ben Stokes, he was last a part of CSK in IPL 2023, but he got injured during the tournament and played only two matches in that season due to a knee injury.
He last played an IPL match in the year 2021. After this he withdrew his name in 2024. Now he will not be seen playing in IPL for the next two seasons. Let us know about the new rule of BCCI due to which Ben Stokes can now play IPL after two years.
Actually, BCCI had announced the dates of IPL 2025 mega auction on 5 November. A total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indians and 409 foreigners) have signed up for the IPL 2025 player auction. The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The list includes 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players and 30 players from Associate Nations. According to the report of ESPNcricinfo, Ben Stokes' name is not included in the list of IPL auction 2025.
The schedule of the England team is going to be very busy, due to which Ben Stokes may not decide to play IPL. However, no official information has been received regarding this yet.

If Ben Stokes is not a part of IPL auction 2025, then he will not be seen playing in IPL for the next two seasons. According to the new BCCI rule, if a player withdraws his name after being sold in the auction, he will be banned for two seasons.
Before this rule, many foreign players used to withdraw their names after being sold in the auction. In such a situation, the teams had to suffer losses.
