Virat Kohli suffers loss in ICC Test rankings, out of top-20 after 10 years

Dubai: Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli has suffered a loss in the latest Test rankings released by ICC on Wednesday. Due to poor performance against New Zealand, Kohli has fallen out of the top-20 in the batsmen's rankings. This is the first time since 2014 that Kohli has fallen out of the top-20 in the batsmen's rankings. Kohli scored only 93 runs in the three-match Test series against New Zealand. Kohli is now 22nd in the ICC Test rankings.

In the recently concluded series against New Zealand, Indian veteran batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma flopped and were out cheaply. New Zealand was the first team in the history of Test cricket to defeat India 3-0 at home. Indian captain Rohit Sharma also failed to score runs. He has lost two places and is at 26th position.

 

Joe Root tops the list of Test batsmen after scoring a double century in the first Test against Pakistan. Root is followed by Kane Williamson and Harry Brook. India's young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has also lost one place and has slipped to fourth position. Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has gained five places to reach fifth position. While Shubman Gill is at 16th place.

India's experienced spinner Ravindra Jadeja has climbed two places to sixth place in the latest rankings. R Ashwin is in fifth place. Jadeja took 10 wickets in Mumbai Test. Washington has reached 46th position in the ranking of best Test bowlers. While Ajaz Patel has reached 22nd position. Ijaz has gained 12 places.
