MG Has Given The Hector Plus Two New Variants
The MG Hector Plus is the three row counterpart to the Hector and MG has given the Plus two new variants. These variants include the Select Pro petrol CVT and the Smart Pro Diesel 7-seater. This is to make the Hector more lucrative and provide customers with even more options.
The Select Pro variant which is the middle spec variant in the petrol version was earlier only available with the 6-speed manual. The CVT is a welcome addition since this segment comprises of a lot of customers who would like the convenience of an automatic. The Smart Pro is the entry level version now gets a 7-seater option with the diesel engine. Here are the prices for the new variants:
Even though both of these new variants are entry level models, they are still loaded with features. They get a 14-inch vertically stacked infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, push button start and keyless entry as well.
The MG Hector comes with two engine options. The first one is the 1.5L turbo petrol engine which produces 143 bhp and 250 Nm of torque is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT. The other engine option is a FIAT sourced 2.0L diesel engine which produces 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. This engine only comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and unfortunately is not available with an automatic transmission.
The Hector Plus rivals the likes of the Tata Safari, Toyota Innova, and the recently updated Hyundai Alcazar. The Hector Plus has a starting price of Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and it goes all the way up to Rs 23.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
