Retired government employee has filed a petition
Retired government employee and lawyer Om Prakash Yadav has filed a petition challenging the construction of temples in police station premises. Yadav's lawyer Satish Verma gave this information to reporters. Advocate Verma argued that the open spaces where these temples are being constructed are public places.
He said that the petition has cited the recent order of the Supreme Court banning the construction of religious structures in public places. Verma says that thus, the construction of temples inside the premises of police stations in Madhya Pradesh is a violation of the Supreme Court order.
The petitioner's lawyer said that temples have already been built in some police stations in clear violation of constitutional provisions. Advocate Satish Verma said that the petitioner has also attached some photographs with his petition, in which he has said that temples have been built inside some police stations.
