Hulk Hogan reveals why his biopic starring Chris Hemsworth was stopped
Washington Washington. Wrestling fans missed their chance to see Hulk Hogan's biopic, with Chris Hemsworth playing the immortal character. Fans were eager to see the journey of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan and his rise to fame with WWE and WCW. Unfortunately, the film was not made and the project was shelved. Hogan revealed why the film was shelved despite much anticipation among fans.
During an appearance on the PBD Podcast, Hulk Hogan revealed the real reason for the untitled Netflix biopic on him being shut down. Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan revealed that Netflix production in-charge allegedly missed payments. He also revealed that the script, created by Scott Silver of Joker and The Wolf of Wall Street fame, was really good. Additionally, there was a belief that Chris Hemsworth could win an Oscar for his performance.
“They kind of lapse in the contract, yes. There was a payment that was not made on time. The script was amazing. Scott Silver, who wrote the scripts for Joker, The Wolf of Wall Street and many other films, said, 'It's the best thing I've ever written.' When I read it, I was like, Oh my God, this is really good. At that time, I was in a place where I told them positive things about wrestling.”

“Conversated with this author for almost three years. When I read it, it was profound, if that's the right word. But perhaps this was what the public wanted to see. When I read it, I was like, 'Oh my God, if this thing comes out…' There was talk that Chris Hemsworth has never played a real person before and he could probably win an Oscar, this thing. That's so powerful,” Hulk Hogan said.
Hogan stated that the problem arose due to missed payments and that Hogan had the option to abandon the project, which he chose. However, Netflix worked on a documentary about former WWE Kingpin, Vince McMahon, which was released on the platform. The series gained a lot of attention as it highlighted the controversial wrestling promoter's journey that led WWE to where it is today.
