RR Target Players: Having spent INR 79 crores off the total Salary cap for retention, the Rajasthan Royals will have a purse value of INR 41 crore for the mega auction.
According to the new IPL 2025 retention rules released by BCCI, each team can retain six players from their existing squad via retention or the Right to Match (RTM) option.
Since the Royals have retained a full quota of six, the inaugural IPL champions will not have any RTM option during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
However, Rajasthan Royals are likely to chase the following players during the auction.

- Liam Livingstone
- Rachin Ravindra
- If Buttler
- Trent Boult
Mitchell Starc
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has been released by the KKR for the auction, who joined the franchis on a record breakin price of INR 24.50 crore, becoming the costliest buy in the history of IPL.
He made every penny useful used on him as he helped the side to cling the third title. During the IPL 2024 finals, he picked two crucial wickets with an conomy of 4.66 across his three overs.
Across the season, Starc picked 17 wickets in 14 matches, proving his value as a strike bowler. His addition to any team will prove to be a valuable asset.
Liam Livingstone
Liam Livingstone’s recent form and all-rounder abilities could be enough for any franchise to make him valuable asset. Joining PBKS in 2022 auction, he scored 827 runs at average of 33 with a strike rate of 169 and also picked 11 wickets.
With a strike rate above 150 and ability to score quickly will making him a dynamic asset for any team who seeks for all-rounders.
If Buttler
The England cricketer Jos Buttler have an explosive batting and experience when it comes to IPL. His track record in the Indian league and International cricket makes his one of the auction’s most sought after players.

Rachin Ravindra

Being a left arm pacer, Trent Boult could serve a potential threat for batsmen across the world. Having palyed for Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Rajasthan, the player will be entering the auction pool after Rajasthan Royals failed to retain him.
He will be one of the players to be considered to be used as an RTM option by the frachise.
Known for his experience and consistency, he has been instrumental in powerplay overs, delivering break through at crucial moments. His registration for the IPL 2025 mega auction is expected to draw interest from multiple franchises who are looking to strengthen their new ball attack.
Meanwhile, the leading wicket taker in the IPL history Yuzvendra Chahal has been released by the franchise and will not be aiming to pick the player on a high bid during the auction.
Rajasthan Royals has been one of the team to retain most of the players ahead of the mega auction. Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Sandeep Sharma are on the Rajasthan Royals retained players list.

The IPL governing council has confirmed that the mega auction will be held in November 24 and 25 at Jeddah. Despite the event being hosted overseas, IPL fans can still enjoy the IPL 2025 auction live streaming from their home.
