Attacks on Hindus are not stopping in Bangladesh, comments on ISKCON temple create ruckus; Army deployed
New Delhi : After the change of government in Bangladesh, the ongoing violence against the Hindu community is showing no signs of decreasing. There are reports of violence against them from somewhere in the country. On Wednesday, similar news came from the port city of Chittagong in the country's south-east, where violence broke out after comments against an ISKCON temple. To stop the violence, joint forces led by the army carried out sweeps in parts of the city on Wednesday. After the arrival of the army, tense peace was established in the city.
Actually the violence started when a Muslim shopkeeper made objectionable remarks against ISKCON on his social media, in which many people were injured. Authorities and witnesses said tensions rose in the area after Usman Ali, a businessman, described ISKCON as a terrorist group on Facebook. The people living in Hazari Gali are mainly Hindus who run jewelery shops and medicine wholesalers.

Controversy over comments about ISKCON
The residents of the city told that the debate regarding this comment about ISKCON continued till late night. Following this, several people were injured in attacks by the army, border guards, Bangladeshi paramilitary forces and police officers at the spot. During this period, shops and business establishments remained closed in Hazari Gali area.
Let us tell you that while giving information about the incident on Wednesday, Lieutenant Colonel Firdaus Ahmed said that after the news, a crowd gathered outside Ali's shop and along with Ali, his brother was arrested. The angry mob threw jewelery making acid and broken glass bottles at the security forces from nearby buildings, injuring five soldiers and seven police officers, he said.

Police took 80 people into custody
In fact, Ahmed said that joint security forces have arrested 80 suspects and are reviewing local intelligence and surveillance footage to identify the criminals and prepare for legal action. Another police officer said some Hindu community leaders had called for security forces to be present at the scene to prevent widespread violence in the city.
