Early results began to trickle in as polls closed in the US Presidential Elections on Tuesday. Though Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Kamal Harris won their respective red and blue states, it is too early to say who will win the race for the White House.
Trump won eight states while Democrat Harris captured three states and Washington, D.C., major networks projected. Trump managed to win Florida while Harris won Virginia, which Republicans had expected to flip.
The projections show that Republicans would notch North Dakota, Wyoming and South Dakota, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennesse, South Carolina, West Virginia, Indiana, Alabama, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
As for Democrats, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Delaware and Maryland would go blue.
The race’s outcome will likely hinge on critical battleground states, including Georgia and Pennsylvania, which are unlikely to come for hours or even days. Besides these two, the other five states could also largely decide who wins: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
