Here according to Drik Panchang, today i.e. on 7th November, sunrise will be at 6:42 am. Whereas, sunset will happen at 5:48 pm. On this day, devotees stand in waist-deep water and offer Arghya to the setting sun. In such a situation, there will be time till 5.29 pm to offer Arghya to the Sun on the third day of Chhath festival.
Know the mythological story of offering Arghya
According to the mythological story regarding offering Arghya here, it is said that during the Mahabharata period, Danveer Karna, son of Mata Kunti had also offered water Arghya to the Sun God. Apart from Mata Kunti, Karna is also considered to be the son of the Sun God. Sun God had special blessings on the generous Karna, it is said that Karna used to wake up every morning and stand in water for hours and offer Arghya to Sun God. By the grace of Sun God, Karna became a great warrior. Apart from this, according to the story, it was told that in Mahabharata, when Pandavas lost their entire kingdom in the game of gambling, Draupadi also observed Chhath fast. Pleased with Draupadi’s fast and worship, Shashthi Maiya returned their kingdom to the Pandavas
