Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz : Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the dismissal of Finance Minister Christian Lindner, giving a major blow to the ruling coalition led by the center-left Social Democrats. According to reports, Scholz's announcement signals a break with the ruling three-party alliance, which is also supported by Lindner's party. He said he would propose a vote of confidence in January. Lindner is from the pro-property Free Democrats (FDP) party.
