Video- Scuffle between party and opposition MLAs on the issue of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, proceedings adjourned.

Srinagar. There is a lot of uproar in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Thursday. A scuffle broke out among the MLAs in the House regarding Article 370. After the uproar, the Speaker adjourned the assembly proceedings for some time. After which the speaker said to take out those who came into the well. Marshals escorted some BJP MLAs out of the assembly.

Banners on Article 370 were shown in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly by Khurshid Ahmed Shaikh, brother of Lok Sabha MP from Baramulla, Engineer Rashid, and MLA from Lengate. Opposition leader Sunil Sharma objected to this. Seeing the banner, the BJP MLA got enraged and snatched the poster from his hand. BJP MLAs took the poster from Sheikh Khurshid's hand and tore it. During this, a scuffle broke out and there was a lot of commotion.

After the uproar and scuffle in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, the proceedings of the House were adjourned for 15 minutes. Even after the House was adjourned, BJP members continued their protest. BJP raised voice on security as to how such things are allowed. Marshals took out some opposition MLAs who were creating ruckus in the House. PDP presented a resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly demanding the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A.

Opposition leader Sunil Sharma said that they built their own palaces and set up cemeteries under special status. NC leaders got angry on this. BJP started sloganeering in the House. On the other hand, NC leaders also raised slogans in the House.

We will continue to raise our voice: Khurshid Ahmed Shaikh

Engineer Rashid's brother and Awami Ittehad Party MLA Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh (who displayed a banner on Article 370 in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today) said that it is completely legal. We wanted to bring a proposal on Article 370, but we were not given a chance. So, what other option did we have? The banner talked about Article 370 and Article 35A, which we condemn. But BJP did not like this. Even if they continue to attack us, we will continue to raise our voice.

BJP President Ravinder Raina said that the Congress and National Conference governments have tried and conspired to revive the agenda of terrorists and separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. The Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir has nothing to do with Article 370. The way the Congress-National Conference government has secretly brought the Article 370 proposal in the Assembly is illegal and unconstitutional. This is betrayal of the country. BJP will never allow this agenda to be implemented.”

We want to strengthen Mother India: Deputy Chief Minister

Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Surinder Kumar Chaudhary said that we are those who want to strengthen Mother India. We have talked about people's interest, industries, tourism, education etc. People are seeing that whatever Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Surinder Kumar Choudhary are saying is in their interest.

BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said on the uproar in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly session that the National Conference and the parties of Kashmir want to spoil the atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir. The way the Speaker is acting as an agent of the National Conference has spoiled the atmosphere. Today, the way they showed hooliganism by removing BJP MLAs through marshals is unbearable. The government itself wants the atmosphere there to deteriorate. Neither will we get any special status nor will we get anything, this has become history.

Let us tell you that earlier on Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed the resolution to restore special status to the state. There was uproar in the House as soon as the resolution presented by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary was passed. BJP MLAs entered the well of the House. Protesting against the proposal, they tore copies of it and threw them in the air. After the proceedings of the House were disrupted several times, Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourned the proceedings of the House for the day.

The resolution asked the Center to hold talks with the elected representatives for restoration of the special status of the erstwhile state. BJP MLAs opposed the proposal and tore the documents lying on the table. The proposal also expressed concern over the unilateral removal of special status. Amidst the uproar, the proposal was passed by voice vote without any debate by Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather.
