50 grams cheese

2 cups canola oil/rapeseed oil

500 ml boiling water

1 slice lemon

2 cups powdered sugar

1 1/2 teaspoon ground green cardamom

150 grams mashed khoya

2 tbsp ghee

4 threads saffron

30 grams flour

2 tbsp corn flour

1/4 tsp baking powder

Step 1 Prepare the sugar syrup

To make this simple gulab jamun recipe, you need to take a vessel and add sugar, water and a slice of lemon in it. Mix the sugar syrup well and reduce it to two strings of syrup. Then turn off the flame and let it come to normal room temperature.

Step 2 Prepare the dough for Gulab Jamun

Take a wide tray and add chhena or paneer and khoya in equal quantities, mash them together using a masher. To enhance the taste, add some saffron strands to it. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture. When the mixture is smooth enough, move on to the next step. Add flour, cardamom powder, cornflour and baking powder to the khoya-paneer mixture. To make gulab jamun more delicious, add some ghee to the mixture. It will smell good and taste good too.

Step 3 Make small balls of dough

Now, apply some ghee on your palms and take some flour and make small balls. Meanwhile, place a pan on medium heat and heat oil for frying. When the oil is hot enough, slowly add the balls and let them cook. Wait until the balls turn golden brown.

Step 4 Soak the fried balls in gulab jamun

Take out the balls and remove excess oil, then gently drop the gulab jamun balls into the sugar syrup. Let the gulab jamuns absorb the syrup. After half an hour, take them out and place in a bowl and gently add some sugar syrup.

Step 5 Garnish with dry fruits
