In fact, in this prestigious tournament, the double of 6000 runs and 400 wickets has been achieved by a player for the first time.
This unique double has been achieved by Kerala's first class player Jalaj Saxena.
This 37-year-old player got his name registered in the Ranji Trophy record book in the match against Uttar Pradesh.
He destroyed UP's batting by taking five wickets in the first innings and completed 400 wickets by taking the wicket of Nitish Rana.
Jalaj has also played for Madhya Pradesh team in domestic cricket. Jalaj Saxena was in the teams of Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians in IPL (2021) and Champions League (2014/15) respectively.
Talking about Jalaj, till date he has not got a chance to play in the Indian cricket team.
He is counted among the great all-rounders of domestic cricket. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin and legbreak googly bowler.
Jalaj made his first class debut in December 2005, List A in 2006 and T20 debut in 2023.
