Skoda has prepared a masterplan, will launch updated EV in India in the year 2025

New Delhi: Skoda Auto, one of the big companies in the automobile sector, has talked about preparing its plans for the coming times. This company has decided that it will launch its electric vehicle in the Indian market by the year 2025.

Speaking exclusively to ANI, Skoda Auto Brand Director Petr Jeneba said that Skoda's European bestseller, the Enyaq EV, was earlier supposed to be launched in India this year, but it was postponed to next year for the updated version. Jeneba said a major facelift is planned for the model in March, which is why the company has put it on hold until a new version with Skoda's latest design language is ready.

a big change

He said that one of our best selling EVs in Europe is our European Enyaq. This car was prepared for India, for which it was also tested. We've actually stopped bringing the car this year. Because after the new design language, a major change of Skoda Enyaq is going to come in March. He has said that we can actually choose one or all three of the three EV cars coming to India. Skoda is closely monitoring India's changing EV policies, especially the CAFE3 i.e. corporate average fuel economy norms, which are scheduled to be introduced in April 2027.

ready for production

Jeneba highlighted the importance of a consistent regulatory environment on further investment in India, as state-level EV and hybrid tax policies currently vary widely, impacting long-term planning and the impact of the scheme. Within, we understand that no one in India can survive without deeply localized CKD EVs in India. We are ready for this. We are ready to make another investment for the car in Pune and get it into production. At the end of the day, we still take our time to decide which car is the right size for the market, given the new competitors coming up on EVs.
