After Salman, Now Shah Rukh Khan Receives Threat Call; Case Filed

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as ‘King Khan,’ has reportedly received a threatening call from a young man based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The call, which was made directly to the police station in Mumbai’s Bandra, included a demand for a ransom of ₹50 lakh. Police have registered a case and, based on the phone number provided, have traced the call to Faizan, a suspect from Raipur. Authorities in Mumbai have already sent a team to the Chhattisgarh capital to investigate the matter further.

This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has been targeted with threats. In October 2023, following the success of his blockbuster films Pathaan and Jawan, the actor received a death threat. In response, Mumbai Police escalated his security, providing him with a Y+ security cover, which ensures he is accompanied by six armed personnel at all times. This marks an increase from the earlier arrangement, where the 59-year-old actor was guarded by two armed security officers.

Shah Rukh Khan’s security has been a concern in the past due to his previous run-ins with the Mumbai underworld. His ability to withstand such threats has earned him respect, but his latest encounter highlights ongoing safety challenges for high-profile celebrities in India.

The threat to Khan follows a string of similar intimidation incidents targeting fellow Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Khan has faced repeated threats, most notably from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously demanded ransom and made death threats. On Wednesday, a 32-year-old man named Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, was arrested in Karnataka for issuing a death threat to Salman Khan. Police revealed that Ram, a daily wage worker from Rajasthan’s Jalore district, was watching a news report about Khan when he decided to make the call, hoping to profit from the fear surrounding the actor.

The threat came just one day after another warning to Salman Khan from the Bishnoi gang. The message, allegedly sent by someone claiming to be the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, demanded an apology from Khan for allegedly killing a blackbuck—an act that has long been a source of controversy. This marked the second such threat in less than a week.

Salman Khan’s security measures were also increased following a shooting incident outside his Mumbai residence earlier this year, underscoring the growing concern over the safety of Bollywood’s biggest stars.
