Due to not getting seats in Maharashtra elections, about 150 people from both the major alliances raised the war flag.

Latest News :- Around 150 dissidents of both the alliances contesting Maharashtra elections have filed petitions against the official candidates of their party or alliance. Maha Vikas Akadi and Mahayudi alliance have announced candidates for all 288 constituencies to be contested in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He has also filed a petition. 4th is the last day to withdraw the petition. Meanwhile, around 150 dissidents from both the alliances have contested the elections against the official candidate of their party or alliance.
This issue is a big challenge for both the alliances. Prominent among them is BJP's Gopal Shetty. He has filed the petition against Sanjay Upadhyay, the party's official candidate in Borivali constituency. Sameer, a close relative of NCP minister Sajan Bhujpal, has filed an independent petition against Shiv Sena MLA Sukash Khande from Nangan assembly constituency in Nashik district.
Leaders of the Mahayudi and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance parties expressed concern that many disgruntled leaders were contesting the elections against the alliance. He has expressed hope that by then the differences will be resolved because 4th is the last date for withdrawal of petitions. It is being told that only after November 4, the actual number of dissatisfied leaders in each alliance will be known.
A senior Congress leader said constituencies are decided on the basis of merit and probability of victory. Nationalist Congress Party president Sunil Tadgare said, “The constituency distribution system of the Mahayudi alliance was decided with the sole aim of victory after considering all aspects. Our alliance will definitely retain power. We will meet and talk to senior leaders of our party to resolve the internal issues of the party,” he said.
