Pakistani wife Mushal Hussain writes letter to Rahul Gandhi for the release of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yasin Malik.

New Delhi. Mushal Hussain Malik, wife of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief and separatist leader Yasin Malik, convicted in a terror funding case, has written a letter to Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. In this letter, Mushal Hussain has appealed to Rahul Gandhi to raise the case of Yasin Malik in Parliament, declaring her husband innocent. Along with this, he also requested Rahul Gandhi to make efforts for the release of Yasin, because he believes that Yasin Malik can contribute to restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP has given a sharp reaction to this letter. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that this letter is written only to those who are well-wishers of someone. Naqvi believes that this letter makes it clear that Congress has been in support of the separatist leaders. He termed this action of Yasin Malik's wife as an attempt to match the tune of Congress and called it against the constitution and security of the country.

Chargesheet filed against Yasin Malik in terrorist funding case

Mushal Hussain Malik has alleged in the letter that fabricated allegations have been made against Yasin Malik. In 2017, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed a charge sheet against Yasin Malik and other accused in the terrorist funding case, demanding death sentence. After this, in 2022, the court sentenced Malik to life imprisonment. Regarding this matter, Mushal Hussain alleges that BJP and NIA have deliberately tortured her husband.

Yasin Malik on hunger strike

In the letter, Mushal Hussain has also written that Yasin Malik is currently on an indefinite hunger strike. He started this strike on November 2 and his health is being seriously affected. Mushal Hussain said that Yasin is the person who had left the path of violence and adopted the path of non-violence and now his life is in danger.
