New Delhi: India’s star batter Virat Kohli announced his new management team on Thursday, November 7. The right-handed batter stated that the new team, ‘Sporting Beyond’, shares his goals and values of integrity and transparency along with his love for the sport. The former India captain mentioned that the new management firm will handle all his business interests.
Talking about management, this decision by Virat Kohli was taken after months when he ended his long-term association with Cornerstone, a reputed celebrity management company, which involved Bunty Sajdeh, his long-time manager.
“I am excited to announce a fresh start with Sporting Beyond, my new team, who have been working with me for a while now,” Virat Kohli said in a statement on social media.
“The team at Sporting Beyond shares my goals and my values of transparency, integrity and a love for sport, in all its forms. This opens a new chapter for me as I look forward to my partnership with my new team, who will be working with me on all of my business interests,” he added.
Talking about the star cricketer, Virat Kohli is one of the most marketable stars having a big name in World Cricket for over a decade. The star former captain, who won the T20 World Cup earlier this year, retired from T20Is, but continues to play Tests and ODIs.
Virat Kohli emerged as the highest taxpayer from the country among sportspersons for the previous financial year, which ended on March 31, 2024. As per data shared by Fortune India magazine, the star batter paid Rs 66 crore as taxes in the financial year. In fact, Kohli was fifth among all the celebrities, with Shahrukh Khan topping the chart.
Despite announcing retirement from T20Is, Kohli was retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise for Rs 21 crore, making him the most expensive Indian player to be retained. He is also expected to lead the franchise in the upcoming edition of the IPL.
Kohli, however, is going through a rough patch but will look to roar back to form in the upcoming Test series against Australia. He will next be seen in action in the first Test in Perth, which starts on November 22.
