AIADMK, BJP fear rift in DMK faction: Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi
Speaking at the wedding of a family member of a party functionary in Thanjavur, Udhayanidhi called on fellow DMK workers to work towards achieving the target of winning more than 200 seats in the 2026 assembly elections. Listing various schemes being implemented by the State Government, including Mahalir Urimai Thogai Scheme, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government is working to maintain the self-respect of women and ensure their economic independence. He said that the data released by NITI Aayog and the Union Statistics Ministry has proved the excellent performance of the Dravidian model government in all departments.
Udhayanidhi later inaugurated the office of Thanjavur MP S Murasoli and the Kalaignar Library near Ramanathan traffic roundabout. He also unveiled the statues of former chief ministers CN Annadurai and M Karunanidhi at Konerirajapuram. In the afternoon the Deputy Chief Minister distributed welfare assistance worth Rs 154 crore to 15,000 beneficiaries. Earlier in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister released the first bulletin and logo for the Bharat Scouts and Guides Diamond Jubilee Celebrations and Jamboree to be held at Manapparai, Tiruchi.
