Latest News :- The famous Padmanabha Swamy temple is in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala state. The runway of the international airport here remains closed during the annual festival of Aipasi and Panguni. Accordingly, during the Aipasi festival, Parivettai and Aratu will be organised. Then the idols of Swamy from the Padmanabha Swamy temple will be taken to the streets. This procession passes through the runway of Trivandrum Airport every year. The airport runway will remain closed on that day. Because before the independence of the country, an airport was built on this procession route.
It has been decided to close the airport runway during the Shobha Yatra of the temple and to open the runway only after the Shobha Yatra. That practice is followed till today. According to this, the runway of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will remain closed for 5 hours in view of Ardaasi festival on 9th. The airport will remain closed from 4 pm to 9 pm on that day. Arrival and departure timings of international and domestic flights will be adjusted accordingly.
