Swatantrata Senani Express and Ayodhya Dham Special narrowly escaped a collision. According to media reports, while going from New Delhi to Jaynagar, Swatantrata Senani Express was standing in the yard of Varanasi Junction due to chain pulling. During this, the rear part of Swatantrata Senani Express crossed the signal and went ahead of it.

Meanwhile, the green signal was given to the Ayodhya Dham special train leaving from platform number three of Varanasi Junction. As the special train reached the yard near Varanasi Junction, the driver noticed that the tail end of the Swatantrata Senani Express was still ahead on the same track. The driver immediately applied emergency brakes. Due to the train slowing down, the Ayodhya Dham Special stopped about 50 meters before the Swatantrata Senani Express, thus a major accident was averted.

The driver informed senior railway officials about this incident. Railway officials were informed about this incident. After this the officials gave permission to restart both the trains. After this incident the passengers heaved a sigh of relief.
Punishment for the person who gave green signal to the train
