CJI Chandrachud spoke to AI lawyer, asked- Is death penalty constitutional in India? got this answer

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud will retire on November 10. On Thursday, CJI Chandrachud asked a question to a lawyer created by AI. The AI lawyer answered this in the same way as a real lawyer gives in the court.

CJI asks AI lawyer during inauguration of National Judicial Museum and Archives in Supreme Court whether death penalty is constitutional in India?

In response, an artificial lawyer standing in a lawyer's attire first placed both hands on his arms, moved his fingers and created a feeling of thinking. Then while cross-examining with both his hands open, he said that death penalty is constitutional in India, but the Supreme Court gives such punishment only in heinous crimes.

CJI Chandrachud, after hearing such an accurate answer from the AI lawyer, looked towards the other judges present there and smiled. The video of the question and answer of CJI and AI lawyer has also surfaced.

CJI said – people should know the live experience of the court room.

Inaugurating the National Judicial Museum and Archives, the CJI said, “The things in this new museum reflect the importance of the character of the Supreme Court; I want this to become a place for the young generation, where there is constant discussion”.

Children from schools and colleges and common people, who are not necessarily lawyers, come here and breathe the air that we breathe every day. This will let the common people know the real experience and importance of law, the work of judges and lawyers, and I hope that the judges coming after my retirement will also open museums for the younger generation.

This museum is not judge-centric; It contains stories related to the people who framed the Constitution and also stories related to the members of the Bar, who have made the Court what it is today through their fearless advocacy.

The old judge library of the Supreme Court has been converted into a new museum, but the executive committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association skipped the inauguration ceremony.

The association had earlier opposed the conversion of the old judge's library into a museum and had demanded a new cafeteria at the site as the existing one was not adequate for the needs of the lawyers.
