Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s relationship has been making headlines due to rumoured turbulence. The couple has been married for over a decade, but in recent months, they’ve faced public scrutiny over alleged divorce speculations. Amidst this, a video resurfaced featuring Aishwarya’s mother-in-law, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, discussing her bond with Aishwarya.
In an interview, Jaya described her relationship with Aishwarya, saying, “She is my buddy. If I don’t like something about her, I tell her to her face. I don’t play politics behind her back. If she disagrees with me, she expresses herself.” She added, “The only difference is that I can be a little more dramatic, and she has to be more respectful. I’m old, you know. That’s all.”
In an earlier episode of Koffee With Karan, Jaya appeared alongside her daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda. When Karan Johar asked if they had any advice for Aishwarya, Shweta remarked that Aishwarya was “just perfect” and didn’t need any advice. Jaya added that Aishwarya should simply continue loving Abhishek as she already does.

Some netizens even suggest that the couple may be experiencing a “grey divorce.” The term refers to an older couple’s separation where they do not formalize it legally but live separately.

Additionally, reports claim that Abhishek allegedly cheated on Aishwarya with his Dasvi co-star Nimrat Kaur, which might have led to the separation.
